Spring rolls

A superb recipe for anyone craving a bit of spring on their plate. Vegetables packed with vitamins and offering outstanding aroma.

Ingredients – spring rolls

  • Rice paper – 6 sheets
  • Carrot – 1 pc
  • Green cucumber – 1 pc
  • Bell pepper (yellow or red) – 1 pc
  • Soybean sprouts – 1 handful
  • Alfalfa sprouts – 1 handful
  • Romaine lettuce – Several leaves

Ingredients – sauce

  • Water – 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce – 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar – 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar – 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped chili pepper – 1

Preparation

Slice the carrot, lettuce, and cucumber into sticks. Soak the rice paper in water (this will make it soft and pliable).

Place the sliced vegetables, sprouts, cilantro, and torn lettuce in the center of the rice paper. Roll up, folding in the edges and pressing firmly. Heat the water and dissolve the sugar in it, then add the remaining sauce ingredients.

Serve the rolled spring rolls with the sauce.
