You can skip the spicy additions and prepare a mild version of these burgers, suitable even for children. The burgers can be grilled on a grate, on a grill pan, or fried in a non-stick pan.
Ingredients
Burgers:
- 700 g salmon, cleaned of bones and skin
- 1 cup (250 ml) canned red beans, drained
- salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or sweet paprika)
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped chives
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons finely chopped chili pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped onion
Avocado Salad
- 1 avocado
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 4 green pickled jalapeno peppers, drained
- 1 tablespoon chopped chives
Preparation
Grind or finely chop the salmon, mix it with mashed red beans (you can also grind the salmon and beans together in a meat grinder with large holes). Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and mix in the chives. Heat olive oil in a pan, add garlic, chili pepper, and onion.
Saute for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned. Remove from the pan and mix with the salmon and beans mixture. Form burgers and grill on a grate or grill pan for about 2-3 minutes on each side (or less, making sure not to overcook the salmon). Alternatively, you can fry them in a non-stick pan or with a little oil. Serve as desired, for example, in a grilled bun or with rice, accompanied by the avocado salad.
