Beef Tartare with Pickled Cucumber

A well-seasoned appetizer with beef that perfectly complements the tangy pickles and sharp, pleasantly spicy onion, making it a staple on the Polish party table for years.

Ingredients

  • Beef chuck 650g
  • Pickled cucumber 3 pieces
  • Onion 1 piece
  • Egg yolks 3 pieces
  • Rapeseed oil 4 tablespoons
  • Liquid seasoning (e.g., Maggi) 3 tablespoons
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Thoroughly wash the beef, pat it dry, and grind it using a meat grinder.
  2. Transfer the meat to a bowl, add the egg yolks, oil, liquid seasoning, and mix everything until smooth, season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. Finely chop the pickled cucumbers and onion.
  4. Shape the beef mixture into small balls, arrange them on a platter, and surround them with chopped onion and pickled cucumber.
