Wraps with ground meat, cooked together with tortilla
Ingredients
- 7 smaller tortillas or piadinas (approx. 20 cm in diameter)
- 500 g ground beef (preferably lean)
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- parsley
- salt, pepper, 1 teaspoon ground cumin, oregano, sweet paprika, and 1/3 teaspoon of hot paprika
- olive oil or vegetable oil
- iceberg lettuce
- tomato
- red onion
- 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons spicy ketchup
- optionally: pickled jalapeño peppers
Preparation
Mix the ground meat in a bowl, add finely chopped onion, pressed garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley, all spices, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil or vegetable oil. Knead thoroughly by hand. Prepare the vegetables: wash and dry the iceberg lettuce, then chop it. Slice the tomato into thin slices, and thinly slice the red onion. Mix the mayonnaise with ketchup (and optionally with 1 tablespoon of chopped jalapeño peppers).
Divide the meat mixture into 7 portions and form into balls. On each tortilla, place a meat ball and flatten it. Spread the meat evenly over the entire surface of the tortilla. Heat a frying pan, add a little olive oil or vegetable oil. Place the tortilla with the meat side down and fry for about 3 minutes. Flip briefly to heat and lightly brown the other side of the tortilla. Remove to a plate, place iceberg lettuce, parsley leaves, tomato slices, and red onion in the center of the meat. Fold in half and serve with the sauce.
