Sausage Rolls with Grilled Sausages and Sauerkraut

It’s time for a great grilling feast! Try out Kinga’s recipe for grilled sausages in Bavarian rolls. This dish includes beer, classic sauerkraut, and the staple companion of grilled meals – pickled cucumbers!

Ingredients

  • Rolls – 4 pieces
  • Thuringian sausage – 500 g
  • Onion – 1 piece
  • Beer – 1 liter
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Sauerkraut – 200 g
  • Mustard – 4 tablespoons
  • Pickled cucumber – 4 pieces

Preparation

Step 1: Cook the Sausages

Slice the onion into rings. Then pour beer into a pot, add the onion, and bring to a boil. Add the sausages to the boiling beer. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the grill.

Step 2: Grill the Sausages

Brush the cooked sausages with olive oil and grill (each for about 5 minutes) until they are golden brown.

Step 3: Prepare the Dish

Cut the Bavarian rolls lengthwise and fill them with sauerkraut. Finally, place the sausage in the middle of each roll, add mustard, and pickled cucumbers.
