  • Canned Chopped Tomatoes – 400 g
  • Coconut Milk – 400 ml
  • Garlic Clove – 5 pieces
  • Ground Beef and Pork – 750 g
  • Cayenne Pepper, Whole – 1 tablespoon

Preparation

Place the ground meat in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper, crush 2 garlic cloves with a press, and add to the meat. Season with a pinch of cinnamon, add 2 tablespoons of potato starch. Chop the basil and add it to the meat.

Cut the hot chili pepper lengthwise, remove the seeds, chop into strips, and then into small cubes. Add to the meat. Season everything with pepper and salt, then knead by hand. Pour a bit of sunflower oil onto a plate, rub it with your hand, and shape the meat into meatballs. Dust them with the remaining potato starch and roll again. Heat 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a pan, add butter. When the butter melts, add the meatballs to the pan. Cut one shallot into half rings. Crush 3 garlic cloves, set aside with the shallot. Grate fresh ginger onto the garlic and shallot.

Sauté the meatballs for a while, flip them, they should be browned on the outside. Transfer to a plate. In the same wok (or in a deep frying pan), heat 4 tablespoons of sunflower oil.

Cook the rice according to the package instructions, covered. Cut 2 fresh hot chili peppers along with the seeds, then finely chop. Add shallot, garlic, ginger, and chili to the pan. Stir. Add peeled tomatoes, 1 can of coconut milk. Add 2 tablespoons of Japanese soy sauce. Add the meatballs to the wok with the sauce, gently mix. Cook for about 5-8 minutes. Chop half a bunch of fresh coriander. Meanwhile, stir the rice.

Serving: Just before serving, add chopped fresh coriander to the sauce. Mix. Transfer the meatballs with the sauce to a bowl. Serve the rice in smaller bowls.
