Ingredients
- hot dog buns: 2 pieces
- Pastrami: 200 g
- onion: 1 piece
- jalapeño pepper: 2 pieces
- butter: 40 g
- beef broth: 0.25 cup
- pickles: 4 pieces
- romaine lettuce: 4 leaves
- olive oil: 1 tablespoon
Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Sauce In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add diced onion and finely chopped jalapeño peppers. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until the onion is soft and begins to caramelize (about 10 minutes). Add beef broth and mustard. Simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the Buns and Lettuce Warm the hot dog buns in the oven at about 180°C or on a grill pan. Take a bowl, add lettuce pieces and olive oil, then mix them together.
Step 3: Prepare the Dish Slice the hot dog buns and place lettuce on each sliced bun, followed by slices of pastrami. Drizzle with the prepared sauce, add pickles sliced into rounds, and serve.
