Naan bread with figs is a dish that not only looks great on the table but also tastes delicious! Prepare it for an evening with loved ones, and it will surely be a hit!
Ingredients
For Naan Bread:
- 1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
- 7 g Dried Yeast
- 1 Egg
- 80 g Plain Yogurt
- 3 tablespoons Butter
- 425 g All-Purpose Flour
- 20 ml Olive Oil
- 10 g Parsley
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 125 ml Water
For Gorgonzola Paste:
- 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 20 g Parsley
- a pinch of Salt
- 200 g Gorgonzola Cheese
- 2 cloves Garlic
Additional:
- 5 Figs
- 30 g Hazelnuts
- 25 g Mixed Salad
- 1 tablespoon Balsamic Cream
Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Starter: Combine yeast, sugar, and water in a bowl and set aside for 10 minutes. Then add olive oil, yogurt, and egg. Mix well.
Step 2: Prepare the Dough: In another bowl, mix 1 cup of flour with salt. Add the starter and mix until combined. Gradually add the remaining flour (add until it becomes difficult to mix the dough with a spoon).
Step 3: Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes. Then transfer it to an oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rest for an hour.
After the dough has risen, transfer it to a floured surface and divide it into 8 pieces. Form each into a ball. Roll out each ball into a 0.5 cm thick disk.
Step 4: Prepare the Gorgonzola Paste: Blend all the ingredients for the paste and spread it over the prepared naan bread dough.
Step 5: Decorate and Bake the Naan Bread: Arrange sliced figs and chopped hazelnuts on the dough, then sprinkle with salt.
Bake the naan bread for about 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C.
Step 6: Serve the Naan Bread: Remove the naan bread from the oven. Sprinkle with fresh parsley leaves and drizzle with balsamic cream before serving.
