Pecan Snack

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 pound pecans
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Method of preparation:

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).

In a large bowl, whisk the egg whites and water until frothy.

Add the pecans to the egg white mixture and stir to coat evenly.

In a separate small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon and salt.

Stir the sugar mixture into the pecan mixture until the nuts are completely coated.

Spread the pecans in a single layer on a baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking.

When ready, remove from the oven and leave to cool. They will crisp up as they cool.

Store the pecan snacks in an airtight container.
