If you can’t decide between baking a cheesecake or a chocolate cake, bake the Izaura cake – a combination of both! A rich chocolate base and fluffy cheese topping make this a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Chocolate Layer:
- Margarine: 250 grams
- Eggs: 4
- Sugar: 1/2 cup
- All-purpose flour: 1.5 cups
- Cocoa powder: 4 tablespoons
- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
- Vanilla sugar: 2 tablespoons
Cheese Layer:
- Ground quark cheese: 1 kilogram
- Cream pudding mix: 2 packets
- Eggs: 6
- Sugar: 1 cup
- Butter: 4 tablespoons
Additional:
- Chocolate glaze
Preparation
Pan size: 28×24.5 cm (or larger).
- Chocolate Layer:
- Melt margarine with sugar, vanilla sugar, and cocoa, then leave to cool.
- Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Mix flour with baking powder. Add the yolks and the cooled margarine mixture. Mix thoroughly.
- Gently fold in the beaten egg whites. Pour the chocolate batter into a baking pan lined with parchment paper.
- Cheese Layer:
- Beat the eggs with sugar until fluffy. Add softened butter and gradually add the ground cheese. Finally, add the pudding mix and combine well.
- Pour the cheese mixture over the chocolate layer. You can slightly swirl the two layers with a fork to create a marbled effect.
- Baking:
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (without convection).
- Bake for about one hour. After baking, remove from the oven and let it cool. Refrigerate for several hours.
- Finishing:
- Before serving, pour the chocolate glaze over the cake.
