Healthy Hot Dogs

Fast food in a fit version. An excellent recipe that you simply must try.


  • Whole grain buns – 4 pieces
  • Sausages – 4 pieces
  • Carrots – 2 pieces
  • Leek (white part) – 1 piece
  • Mayonnaise – 1 tablespoon
  • Mild ketchup – 4 tablespoons
  • Salt – to taste
  • Arugula – 1 handful


  1. Start by preparing the coleslaw. Peel and grate the carrots using a grater with large holes. Finely chop the leek (white part). Peel and grate the apple. Mix the prepared ingredients with a small amount of mayonnaise and a pinch of salt.
  2. Cook the sausages (choose those with the highest meat content) for about 1 minute. Meanwhile, slice the buns lengthwise, but not all the way through, and toast them in the oven.
  3. Spread a little ketchup inside each warm bun and insert one sausage. Then, add some coleslaw and a few arugula leaves to each hot dog. Serve warm.
