Grilled shrimps


This recipe is a canvas for your culinary creativity. Whether you like your prawns spicy, herby or garlicky, you can make it your own. It’s a versatile dish that’s sure to please any palate.


  • prawns (as many as you like, peeled and deveined)
  • butter (melted, for brushing)
  • spices (such as garlic powder, paprika, salt and black pepper)
  • lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Method of preparation:

Preheat the grill to medium heat.

In a bowl, toss the shrimp with your choice of seasonings until well coated.

In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with a squeeze of lemon juice.

Thread the prawns onto skewers if you have them. Place the prawns on the barbecue and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until opaque and slightly charred.

During the last minute of grilling, baste the prawns with the butter and lemon mixture.

When cooked, remove the prawns from the barbecue and brush lightly with the butter mixture again. Serve with additional lemon wedges on the side.
