Fit Pancakes: An Alternative to the Classic

Fit Pancakes An Alternative to the Classic

Pancakes are an incredibly popular dish with a huge fan base around the world. Although the traditional version is extremely delicious, it doesn’t always fit into our diet. Fortunately, wanting to eat well doesn’t mean you have to give up this treat.

Ingredients

  • Oat flour 400 g
  • Carbonated water 220 ml
  • Greek yogurt 220 ml
  • Egg white 2
  • Coconut oil 20 ml
  • Salt 1 g

Preparation

Pour water, 10 ml of oil, and yogurt into a bowl, then slowly add the flour and mix the batter. It’s best to choose unsweetened yogurt.

Separate the yolks from the whites. Transfer the yolks to a jar or other container and refrigerate them. Pour the egg whites into a tall bowl and beat until stiff with salt.

Slowly add the egg whites to the batter made of flour, water, and yogurt, and gently mix. The batter should be fluffier than the classic pancake batter with yolks.

Heat a pan and then add 10 ml of oil. When the oil starts to sizzle slightly, you can start frying the pancakes. First, scoop the batter with a ladle, then pour it onto the surface of the pan and gently smooth it out. Fry the pancake for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip to the other side. Place the fried pancake on a plate lined with a paper towel.

Once you’ve fried all the pancakes, you can proceed to filling and serving them. Fit pancakes taste great with yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese, and fresh fruit. You can also add a bit of peanut butter, but remember that it is very high in calories.
