Clafoutis with Cherries

Clafoutis is a sweet French-style baked dessert. Perfect for a summer lunch or a delicious breakfast, it’s great for bringing out the full flavor of seasonal fruits.


  • Sugar – 100 g
  • Powdered sugar – 5 g
  • Cherries – 300 g
  • Eggs – 2
  • Butter – 10 g
  • All-purpose flour – 115 g
  • Milk – 200 ml
  • Lemon zest – 2 tablespoons
  • Salt – 1 pinch


Step 1: Mix the Batter Whisk the eggs with milk for about 1 minute. In a separate bowl, sift the flour, add lemon zest, salt, and sugar, then mix. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ones and let it rest for 20 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the Cherries Wash and pit the cherries.

Step 3: Line the Baking Dish Grease a baking dish with butter and pour the batter into it. Place the pitted cherries on top of the batter.

Step 4: Bake the Clafoutis Place the baking dish in the oven and bake the clafoutis for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Step 5: Decorate and Serve Let the finished clafoutis cool for about 10 minutes and dust it with powdered sugar while it’s still warm.
