Ingredients
- Chicken thighs – 500 g
- Garlic cloves – 3 pcs.
- Fresh ginger – 1 tablespoon
- Red chili pepper – 1 pc.
- Fish sauce – 4 tablespoons
- Soy sauce – 70 ml
- Curry powder – 1 teaspoon
- Onions – 2 pcs.
- Wheat flour – 1 teaspoon
- Oil – 100 ml
- Honey – 1 tablespoon
- Lemon – 1 pc.
- Fresh cilantro – 0.25 bunch
Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Meat Trim and clean the chicken thighs. Then cut them into small pieces and transfer to a bowl.
Step 2: Marinate the Meat Finely chop two cloves of garlic, ginger, and most of the chili pepper. Add these prepared ingredients to the chicken pieces. Then season with half of the fish sauce and soy sauce and curry powder. Mix the meat thoroughly and set aside for about 5-10 minutes to marinate.
Step 3: Fry the Chicken Pieces Add flour to the marinated chicken pieces and mix well. Heat oil in a wok and fry the meat in batches until golden brown.
Step 4: Prepare the Sauce In a bowl, mix honey, juice from the whole lemon, and zest from half of it. Add the remaining fish sauce and soy sauce, as well as finely chopped remaining chili pepper and the last garlic clove. Mix everything well.
Step 5: Fry the Onions Cut the onions into fairly large feathers. Briefly fry, almost toast them in the hot oil remaining after frying the chicken.
Step 6: Fry the Meat with Onions in the Sauce Leave the fried onions in the wok, draining only the fat in which they were fried. Then add the meat, some of the previously prepared sauce, and roughly chopped cilantro. Sauté everything for a while.
Step 7: Serve the Dish Serve the finished dish with rice or your favorite Asian-style noodles, drizzled with the remaining sauce to taste and sprinkled with cilantro leaves.
