Sunburst Camembert Pastry

Delicious and creamy camembert, baked with French pastry filled with aromatic pesto. An impressive snack that will impress guests at any gathering.


  • French pastry dough – 2 pcs.
  • Egg – 1 pc.
  • Honey – 1 teaspoon
  • Walnuts – 30 g
  • Pesto – 50 g
  • Camembert cheese – 120 g
  • Fresh rosemary – 16 g
  • Dried cranberries – 20 g


Step 1: Cutting Circles from the French Pastry Dough Roll out the pastry dough, place a plate on it, and cut out its shape with a knife. Place the circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread basil pesto over the pastry. From the second pastry dough, cut out another circle of the same size. Cover the first circle, spread with pesto, and gently press down.

Step 2: Assembling the Sunburst with French Pastry Remove the Camembert from its packaging. Place the packaging in the center of the joined pastry circles and cut out a circle the same size as the packaging with a knife. Remove the circle. Insert the Camembert cheese back into the wooden packaging and place it in the center.

Cut the pastry into 16 pieces, not cutting to the edge of the Camembert packaging. Fold the bottom of each piece in the opposite direction – once to the right, once to the left. Pair the pieces together to form the shape of sun rays.

Step 3: Adding Toppings to the Camembert Cheese Slice the Camembert cheese with a knife in 3-4 places. Arrange walnuts and cranberries on top and drizzle with honey. Brush the pastry with beaten egg from a bowl.

Step 4: Baking the Sunburst with Camembert Cheese Bake the pastry in an oven preheated to 200°C for 30 minutes. After baking, let it cool slightly and decorate with sprigs of rosemary. Serve warm.
