Smoked Salmon Tartare with Herb Cucumber Salad

If you’re a salmon lover, this dish is a must-try for you! Excellent smoked salmon tartare served with a refreshing cucumber salad is a must-have!


  • Red onion – 1 piece
  • Lumpfish caviar – 4 teaspoons
  • Fresh dill – 24 g
  • Sour cream (18%) – 3 tablespoons
  • Smoked salmon – 400 g
  • Vinegar – 3 tablespoons
  • Cucumber – 1 piece
  • Pumpkin seed oil – 4 tablespoons
  • Black pepper – 1 pinch
  • Garden cress – 10 g
  • Orange zest, grated – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Grated horseradish – 1 tablespoon


Step 1: Prepare the Onion Peel and slice the onion into thin rings. Transfer to a bowl and pour half of the vinegar over it.

Step 2: Prepare the Salmon Tartare Dice the smoked salmon finely and mix with the marinade made from grated orange zest, salt, black pepper, horseradish, and 1 teaspoon of sour cream.

Step 3: Prepare the Cucumber Salad Wash the cucumber and cut it into long, thin strips using a vegetable peeler. Lightly salt and marinate in the remaining vinegar. Sprinkle cucumber with dill and garden cress.

Step 4: Serve the Tartare Arrange the salmon tartare on a plate, giving it a ring or circle shape. Decorate with marinated onion, remaining sour cream, and lumpfish caviar. Place the marinated cucumber salad next to it and garnish with herbs. Drizzle the whole dish with pumpkin seed oil.
