Scones - English Buns

A simple recipe for an English snack. Try these delicious buns with raisins.


  • Flour: 1.5 cups
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: pinch
  • Sugar: 2 tablespoons
  • Raisins: a handful
  • Margarine: 1/4 cup
  • Egg: 1
  • Milk: 1/4 cup


Sift the flour onto a board, add baking powder, salt, sugar, and margarine. Chop everything together. Then add the raisins and the egg beaten with milk (reserve 2 tablespoons for brushing the buns). Knead the dough and roll it out to a thickness of about 1.5 cm.

Use a glass to cut out circles and place them on a greased baking sheet. Brush with the reserved egg and milk mixture before baking. Bake for about 15 minutes at 220 degrees Celsius.
