Pita with Graviera Cheese

If you’re craving a simple snack in the style of Greek cuisine, be sure to try pitas with graviera cheese, brown mushrooms, and spinach! This delicious dish will surely become a staple in your kitchen.


  • Pita bread – 2 pieces
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Butter – 1 tablespoon
  • Mushroom – 100 g
  • Garlic clove – 1 piece
  • Sun-dried tomato – 60 g
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Baby spinach – 150 g
  • Graviera cheese, grated – 100 g


Step 1: Prepare the Filling Slice the mushrooms, cut the sun-dried tomatoes into strips, and finely chop the garlic. Heat olive oil and butter in a pan. Add the mushrooms to the hot oil and butter and sauté, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Then add the sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, and fresh spinach, and cook until the spinach significantly reduces in volume. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 2: Grill the Pitas Preheat an electric grill. Cut the pitas in half. Combine the grated graviera cheese with the filling. Fill the pitas with the prepared mixture. Grill the pitas for about 10 minutes or until the bread turns golden brown.

Pitas are best served with tzatziki sauce.
