Herring Tartare with Avocado and Pickled Cucumber

A tasty and eye-catching dish, perfect for various types of gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Marinated herring fillets in oil: 250 grams
  • Pickled cucumber: 1 piece
  • Red onion: 1 piece
  • Avocado: 1 piece
  • Apple: 1 piece
  • White wine vinegar: 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Mustard: 1 teaspoon
  • Sliced toast bread: 4 slices
  • Chives: 0.5 bunch
  • Black pepper (ground): 2 pinches
  • Oil: 1 tablespoon

Preparation

Soak the herring in cold water for 15 minutes. Then pat dry with paper towels and dice into small cubes. Dice the apple, avocado, onion, and cucumber into small cubes as well. Add to the herring.

Add olive oil, white wine vinegar, and mustard, mix well. Season to taste with freshly ground black pepper. Brush small cups or bowls with oil. Fill with tartare, press firmly. Cut circles from the toast bread slices, matching the diameter of the cups where the tartare will be served.

Carefully place the tartare on the bread circles. Garnish the top with chopped chives.
