Express Chicken Curry with Rice

Chicken curry is one of the most delicious dishes in Indian cuisine. A great idea for a quick dinner. Chicken curry tastes excellent served with basmati rice or jasmine rice. It also goes very well with naan bread or even roasted potatoes.


  • Chicken breast fillet: 600 g
  • Chicken broth cubes: 2
  • Water: 1.15 liters
  • Onions: 2 pieces
  • Red bell pepper: 1 piece
  • Peas: 1 can
  • Natural yogurt: 200 grams
  • Oil: 4 tablespoons
  • Curry powder: 1 heaping tablespoon
  • Basmati rice: 400 grams
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Coriander
  • Green asparagus beans (cooked): a handful


  1. Wash and dice the chicken breast fillets, lightly season with salt. Also, chop the onions into small cubes and slice the bell pepper into strips.
  2. Meanwhile, cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.
  3. In a heated oil, sauté the onions, add the meat and fry for a few minutes. Then add the bell pepper and continue frying for a few more minutes.
  4. Prepare the broth using the broth cubes and water.
  5. Add half a cup of water to the meat and vegetables, sprinkle with curry powder, and mix well.
  6. Pour in the broth. Once everything boils, add the peas and asparagus beans.
  7. Simmer covered for 15 minutes.
  8. Finally, add yogurt and season with pepper and coriander. You can thicken the sauce with water mixed with flour if desired.
  9. Serve with rice.
