Cinnamon French Toast with Challah Bread

How to give a second sweet life to a stale challah bread? Just fry it in butter, decorate it with caramelized fruits, and sprinkle with pistachios!

Ingredients

Caramelized Fruits with Pistachios

  • Blueberries – 100 g
  • Raspberries – 100 g
  • Honey – 80 g
  • Pistachios – 50 g

French Toast with Challah Bread

  • Breadcrumbs – 100 g
  • Cinnamon – 1 teaspoon
  • Eggs – 3 pieces
  • Butter – 70 g
  • Sunflower oil – 50 ml
  • Challah bread – 1 piece

Preparation

Step 1: Coat the French Toast Slice the challah bread into slices about 2 cm thick. Mix the eggs with cinnamon in a bowl. Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture, then coat them with breadcrumbs. Heat butter and sunflower oil in a pan. Fry the French toast on both sides until golden brown.

Step 2: Caramelize the Fruits Heat honey in a separate pan. Once it starts to foam, add raspberries and blueberries – heat gently. Crush pistachios with the flat side of a knife or wrap them in a cloth and crush with a meat tenderizer. Arrange the heated fruits on the slices of challah bread and sprinkle everything with crushed pistachios.
