Potatoes don’t have to be boring! Try out this original recipe for Hasselback potatoes with melting cheese. Delicious!
Ingredients
- Butter – 50 g
- Olive oil – 10 ml
- Black pepper – a pinch
- Gouda cheese – 250 g
- Salt – a pinch
- Potatoes – 3 pcs.
To Serve
- Spring onion – 1 pc.
Preparation
Step 1: Slicing the Potatoes Arrange chopsticks along the two (longer) sides of the potato, then slice it thinly (3 mm) without cutting all the way through (the chopsticks will block the knife). Repeat this process with all the potatoes.
Step 2: Seasoning the Potatoes Melt the butter and brush it over the prepared potatoes, then generously sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
Step 3: Baking the Potatoes Transfer the potatoes to a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 30-40 minutes or until they are tender.
Step 4: Adding the Cheese Cut the cheese into squares measuring about 3 x 3 cm. Remove the potatoes from the oven, drizzle with olive oil, and let them cool slightly. Place the prepared cheese squares between the slices of the potatoes.
Step 5: Baking Again Return the tray to the oven for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and serve with chopped spring onions.
