Ingredients

Ketchup

  • Onion – 1 piece
  • Sugar – 2 teaspoons
  • Mixed peppercorns – 1 pinch
  • Balsamic vinegar – 1 tablespoon
  • Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Canned chopped tomatoes – 240 g
  • Salt – 1 pinch

Burgers

  • Hamburger bun – 4 pieces
  • Onion – 1 piece
  • Garlic clove – 1 piece
  • Ground beef – 400 g
  • Mustard – 3 teaspoons
  • Pickled cucumbers – 2 pieces
  • Olive oil – 20 ml
  • Ground paprika – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1 pinch
  • Iceberg lettuce – 160 g
  • Butter cheese slices – 120 g
  • Fried onions – 4 teaspoons
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Parma ham – 75 g

Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Ketchup Peel and chop the onion. Sauté in hot oil until translucent, then add the tomatoes. Season with salt, pepper, sugar, and balsamic vinegar to taste, and reduce the sauce for about 10 minutes until it thickens. Let it cool.

Step 2: Prepare the Meat and Vegetables for the Burgers Drain and slice the pickles into thin slices. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic, then mix with the ground beef, diced ham, salt, pepper, and ground paprika. Form 4 large, flat patties and fry them in heated olive oil for 4 minutes on each side, flattening the meat with a spatula.

Step 3: Assemble the Burgers Cut the burger buns in half and toast them. Place cheese slices on the patties and cook under a lid until the cheese melts. Spread mustard on the bottom halves of the buns, then layer with a lettuce leaf, a few slices of pickled cucumber, and fried onions. Add the prepared patties, spread ketchup, and cover with the top halves of the buns.
