Cheese ball with broccoli

A surprising idea for an original dish for a gathering. It’s perfect as a spread for savory crackers or sandwiches!

Ingredients

  • Bacon slices – 50 g
  • Broccoli – 1 piece
  • Lemon – 0.5 piece
  • Crackers – 100 g
  • Semi-fat cottage cheese – 250 g
  • Black pepper – a pinch
  • Cheddar cheese – 100 g
  • Salt – a pinch

Preparation

Step 1: Cook the broccoli Bring water to a boil in a pot. Add salt. Cut the broccoli into florets and add them to the boiling water. Cook for 5 minutes and drain.

Step 2: Blend the cheese and cottage cheese Grate the cheddar cheese. Transfer it to a blender along with the creamy cottage cheese and blend. Add the broccoli florets and blend again. Season to taste with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

Step 3: Bake the bacon slices Arrange the bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with another sheet of parchment paper, press with another baking sheet, and place in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 15-20 minutes.

After this time, remove the baked and crispy bacon slices, let them cool, and crumble them into smaller pieces.

Step 4: Shape and serve the cheese ball Shape the cheese mixture into a ball, then roll it in the crumbled bacon pieces. Place it on a plate, and arrange crackers around it for serving with the cheese.
