Baked pasta with cauliflower in minced meat sauce

A simple and tasty dish with pasta, meat, vegetables, and cheese. This casserole is a great idea for a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • Onion – 1 piece
  • Sugar – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1 pinch
  • Cauliflower – 1 head
  • Butter – 1 tablespoon
  • Sunflower oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Dried oregano – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1 pinch
  • Ground pork – 500 g
  • Canned chopped tomatoes – 400 g
  • Farfalle pasta – 200 g
  • Emmental cheese – 200 g

Preparation

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Clean the cauliflower, remove the green leaves, and divide into roughly equal florets about 5 cm in size. Rinse and drain.

Add the pasta to the boiling, salted water and cook for 4 minutes. Then add the cauliflower and cook for another 7 minutes.

Heat oil in a large, non-stick skillet. Fry the meat for 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano. Add the onion, fry everything together for 2 minutes. Add the tomatoes with sauce, simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Drain the pasta and cauliflower well in a sieve. Put half of them into a greased ovenproof dish. Season the sauce with salt, pepper, and sugar, then transfer to the dish. Cover with the remaining pasta and cauliflower, sprinkle with cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes on the middle rack until golden brown.
