American Chef's Salad

Abundance of perfectly matched ingredients and delicious dressing: these are the characteristics of an American-style chef’s salad. Arrange the ingredients on a plate, mix, and enjoy the excellent taste!


  • Romaine lettuce – 2 pcs.
  • Cheddar cheese – 70 g
  • Ham – 50 g
  • Smoked chicken breast
  • Celery stalks – 2 pcs.
  • Cucumber – 0.5 pcs.
  • Carrot – 1 pc.
  • Red onion – 1 pc.
  • Scallions – 1 bunch
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Eggs – 2 pcs.


  • Onion – 0.5 pcs.
  • Apple cider vinegar – 3 tablespoons
  • Maple syrup – 2 teaspoons
  • Dijon mustard – 1 teaspoon
  • Salt – a pinch
  • White pepper – 0.5 teaspoon
  • Olive oil – 0.5 cup


Step 1: Prepare the ingredients Slice the romaine lettuce and ham into strips, cube the cheddar cheese and smoked chicken breast, and slice the celery stalks.

Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise, remove the seeds with a teaspoon, and then slice into half-moons.

Julienne the carrot into sticks. Dice the red onion, finely chop the scallions, and halve the cherry tomatoes. Quarter the hard-boiled eggs.

Step 2: Arrange the ingredients on a plate Arrange the sliced ingredients in batches on a large plate.

Step 3: Prepare the dressing Combine the quartered onion with apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and olive oil in a blender. Season with salt and white pepper. Blend until smooth, creating a uniform sauce.

Step 4: Serve the salad Drizzle the salad with the prepared dressing. Alternatively, serve the dressing in a separate dish and pour it over the salad just before eating: this way, the vegetables will remain fresh and crunchy, and the presentation on the plate will be more aesthetic.
