They smell like tea, taste like tea, and are perfect for afternoon tea – ideal tea cookies!
Ingredients
- Powdered sugar – 80 g
- Vanilla sugar – 1 teaspoon
- Butter – 200 g
- Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
- Wheat flour – 270 g
- Black tea leaves – 2 teaspoons
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grind the tea leaves into powder using a mortar and pestle.
Cut the butter into smaller pieces and transfer to a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients along with the tea powder and knead the dough until smooth and consistent. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
After this time, roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut out cookies.
Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes. When the cookies start to turn golden brown, remove them from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
