Clafoutis is a very popular dish in France. It is incredibly quick to prepare and very simple. French mothers often prepare clafoutis as a dessert for their children, but there’s nothing stopping you from serving such a sweet dish for breakfast.
Ingredients
- Peaches, 400 g
- Raspberries, 200 g
- All-purpose flour, 1 cup
- Sugar, 1/2 cup
- Whole milk (3.2%), 1 and 1/2 cups
- Large eggs, 3 pieces
- Lemon zest sugar for cakes and desserts, 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda, 1 teaspoon
- Butter for greasing the baking dish
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Preparation
- Cut the peaches and place them in a bowl along with the raspberries. Add half of the sugar, mix, and set aside.
- Beat the eggs with the remaining sugar until homogeneous. Add the flour, baking soda, lemon zest sugar, and milk, and mix until combined.
- Transfer some of the fruits to a buttered baking dish and pour the prepared egg mixture over them. Decorate with the remaining fruits.
- Place in a preheated oven at 180°C (356°F) for about 40 minutes.
Before serving, it’s worth dusting the clafoutis with powdered sugar.
