Passion Fruit Curd is a fantastic addition to desserts, cupcakes, and flaky tarts. Its exotic flavor gives sweets a unique character.
Ingredients
- Sugar – 165 g
- Egg – 1 piece
- Butter – 100 g
- Passion fruit – 170 g
- Salt – a pinch
- Eggs – 4 pieces
Preparation
Step 1: Beat Butter, Passion Fruit, and Eggs Melt the butter in a saucepan with the passion fruit pulp and salt. In a bowl, beat sugar, egg yolks, and egg for a while. Remove the saucepan with the butter from the heat and gradually add a few tablespoons of the melted mixture to the beaten eggs, continuously whisking. Repeat this process until both mixtures are combined.
Step 2: Cook the Mixture Pour the entire mixture back into the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook for about 5-8 minutes until the mixture thickens and reaches a custard-like consistency.
Step 3: Chill the Curd in the Fridge Transfer the cooked mixture into a jar and cover it with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
