Marzipan Cake

A moist and almond-filled marzipan cake, perfect for cooler days! Definitely give this flavor combination a try.


Marzipan Cake:

  • Marzipan – 200 g
  • Butter – 170 g
  • Sugar – 100 g
  • Eggs – 4
  • Milk – 70 ml
  • Maple syrup – 50 ml
  • All-purpose flour – 180 g
  • Baking powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Candied orange peel – 1 tablespoon


  • Sliced almonds – 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar – 1 teaspoon


Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients Sift the flour, salt, and baking powder through a sieve into a bowl. Then add the candied orange peel to the dry ingredients and mix again. Combine the milk with maple syrup.

Step 2: Cream the Batter In the bowl of a stand mixer, place the softened butter, soft marzipan, and sugar. Cream together for about 10 minutes. After this time, add 1 egg at a time to the mixture, beating continuously. Then add half of the dry ingredients and half of the milk with maple syrup. Cream the batter until it is smooth, then add the remaining flour and milk. Continue to beat the batter for a while longer.

Step 3: Bake the Cake Pour the prepared batter into a cake pan lined with parchment paper on the bottom and sides. Sprinkle sliced almonds and sugar on top of the cake. Place the cake pan on a baking sheet filled with water. Bake the cake in a water bath for about 1 hour.

Step 4: Decorate the Cake Allow the cake to cool, then dust with powdered sugar.
