French Croissants with Plum Jam

A simple recipe for sweetness straight from French restaurants.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry (300 g)
  • Plum jam (100 g)
  • Hazelnuts (80 g)
  • Milk chocolate (40 g)
  • Egg white (1 piece)

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry gently into a circle and cut into triangles (like a cake).
  4. The size depends on how large you want the croissants to be (I made 8 larger ones).
  5. Finely chop the chocolate.
  6. Toast the hazelnuts in a pan and also chop them.
  7. Add plum jam and mix everything together thoroughly.
  8. Spoon the mixture onto the puff pastry in portions and gently roll up the croissants (make sure to seal the corners tightly).
  9. Brush with beaten egg white and bake in the oven for about 10-15 minutes.
  10. Sprinkle with powdered sugar!
