  • Marjoram – 2 g
  • Black pepper – 1 g

Preparation

Dough: Step 1: Combine the Liquid Ingredients In a bowl, mix together water, oil, and salt.

Step 2: Add the Flour Add flour to the liquids. Do this slowly, stirring constantly. Knead the dough by hand until it becomes elastic.

Step 3: Set Aside the Dough Shape the dough into a ball, then cover it with aluminum foil and set it aside to rest for 30 minutes. Proceed to prepare the filling.

Filling: Step 1: Soak the Mushrooms Put the mushrooms in a bowl, then pour warm water over them. They should soak for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight. After soaking, rinse them, drain, and finely chop.

Step 2: Prepare the Remaining Ingredients Peel and finely chop the onion, then sauté it in butter.

Step 3: Add the Mushrooms Add the chopped mushrooms to the golden-brown onion and sauté for 5-6 minutes until they release their juices. Season with salt (2.5 g), pepper, and marjoram. Set the finished filling aside to cool.

Step 4: Cut Out Dough Circles Remove the dough from the bowl and roll it out on a floured surface. Cut out small circles from the dough, then place a little cold filling on each of them.

Step 5: Seal the Dumplings Fold the dough in half, seal the edges tightly along the length, then seal the opposite edges together, forming the shape of an ear.

Step 6: Cook the Dumplings Bring water to a boil in a pot, add salt (about 4 g), and when it boils, add the dumplings. Cook the dumplings for 5 minutes until they float to the surface. Remove the dumplings with a slotted spoon, and they’re ready! You can eat them immediately with sour cream or serve them with borscht. You can also freeze these dumplings and store them until the holidays.
