A surprising and delicious variation on the classic Polish cuisine! Prepare cabbage soup – strongly tomato-flavored and hearty thanks to the addition of cabbage and minced meat.
Ingredients
- White cabbage – 600 g
- Vegetable broth – 2.5 liters
- Onion – 1 piece
- Tomato paste – 150 g
- Carrot – 2 pieces
- Black pepper – 1 pinch
- Ground pork – 500 g
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Flavor cube – 1 piece
- Canned chopped tomatoes – 400 g
- Basmati rice – 60 g
- Salt – 1 pinch
To Serve
- Fresh dill – 1 pinch
Preparation
Step 1: Sauté Vegetables and Meat with Tomato Paste In a pot with heated olive oil, sauté the diced onion until translucent. Add minced meat and fry until browned. Add diced white cabbage, grated carrots, and tomato paste. Sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the flavors and ingredients combine.
Step 2: Cook the Soup Pour vegetable broth into the pot. Add canned tomatoes and the flavor cube. Cook the soup for about 15 minutes. Add rice and cook for another 10 minutes. Remove the flavor cube, and optionally season the soup with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Serve the Soup Transfer the soup into bowls or plates. Garnish with finely chopped dill on top.
