Braised Young Cabbage

Braised young cabbage with dill is a perfect addition to summer dishes. Be sure to try this recipe!


  • Onion, 1
  • Fresh dill, 24 g
  • Butter, 2 tablespoons
  • All-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon
  • White cabbage, 1
  • Olive oil, 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper, a pinch
  • Salt, a pinch


Step 1: Shred the Cabbage

Shred the cabbage. Dice the onion.

Step 2: Sauté the Cabbage with Onion

In a large pot, sauté the onion in heated olive oil until translucent. Add the shredded cabbage and pour in a little water. Cover with a lid and simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes, until the cabbage softens.

Step 3: Prepare the Roux

In a heated pan, melt the butter and sprinkle in the flour – sauté briefly. Then add everything to the simmering cabbage and mix. If the cabbage is too thick, add a little water.

Step 4: Season the Cabbage

Season the cabbage with salt and pepper, and add finely chopped dill.
