Beef Steak with Potatoes and Corn

Beef Steak with Potatoes and Corn

A fantastic idea for a simple family dinner.

Ingredients:

  • Beef tenderloin fillet: 150 g
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sides:

  • 1 large potato
  • 2 tablespoons 18% sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 corn cob
  • Salt, white pepper, and black pepper

Preparation:

Remove the beef tenderloin from the refrigerator an hour before cooking. Season with salt and pepper, and rub with oil. Place it on a well-heated pan with a thick bottom and fry for 4 minutes on one side. Flip it over and fry for another 4 minutes for a medium-rare steak (pink meat in the center). For a well-done steak, fry for 5 minutes on each side. Remove the steak from the pan, place it on a plate, cover with aluminum foil, and let it rest for 4 minutes before slicing and serving. One minute before serving, place 1 tablespoon of butter on top of the steak. Serve with mashed potatoes and grilled corn.

Prepare the sides before frying the steak: Peel and boil the potato. While still hot, mash it thoroughly with a potato masher, season with salt, white pepper, add 2 tablespoons of sour cream and 1 tablespoon of butter. Mash again until smooth. Boil the corn in salted water for 5 minutes. Cut it into 2 halves, insert a wooden skewer into each half, sprinkle with salt and black pepper, rub with 1 tablespoon of butter, and grill for 3 minutes under a preheated grill in the oven, or grill on a grill pan.
