Ingredients
- King prawns – 300 g
- Tomatoes – 250 g
- Onion – 1 piece
- Garlic cloves – 3 pieces
- Chili pepper – 1 piece
- Clarified butter – 2 tablespoons
- Coconut milk – 150 ml
- Lime juice – 1 tablespoon
- Ground Ginger – a pinch
- Sugar – a pinch
- Cinnamon – a pinch
- Cumin – a pinch
- Ground Cayenne Pepper – a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper – a pinch
- Ground Turmeric – 1 teaspoon
Preparation
- Blanch the tomatoes, peel, chop, and puree.
- Mix chopped onion and garlic with chili and a teaspoon of ginger.
- In a small bowl, mix the ingredients for the masala: 1 teaspoon of cumin, cayenne pepper, black pepper, turmeric, and 0.5 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Heat the clarified butter in a wok with the masala mixture, add the blended onion, and 3 tablespoons of water – cook for about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the tomato puree, add coconut milk, a teaspoon of sugar, and lime juice – cook for about 10 minutes until thickened.
- Add the prawns, simmer for about 5 minutes over low heat.
- Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve hot with fluffy rice!
