A perfect blend of meat marinated in beer, soy sauce, honey, and spices. This is the way to prepare pork knuckle in an oriental style.
Ingredients
- Black pepper: 1 pinch
- Bay leaves: 2 pieces
- Allspice berries: 2 pieces
- Pork knuckle: 400 g
- Salt: 1 pinch
Marinade:
- Garlic cloves: 3
- Honey: 3 tablespoons
- Black pepper: 1 pinch
- Beer: 400 ml
- Salt: 1 pinch
- Soy sauce: 75 g
- Ground chili: 1 pinch
Preparation
- Wash the pork knuckles, place them in a large pot, add the spices, and pour in enough water to cover the knuckles. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer until tender, about 2 to 3 hours. Remove and let cool.
- Finely chop the garlic. Prepare the marinade with 250 ml of beer and the remaining ingredients.
- Score the skin on the knuckles, pour the marinade over them, and set aside for at least 2 hours. Turn the knuckles in the marinade occasionally.
- Preheat the oven to 200°C and set to grill mode. Remove the knuckles from the marinade, place them on a baking sheet or in an ovenproof dish, and bake for about 40 minutes, basting with the juices produced during baking and the remaining 150 ml of beer.
