Do you crave something intensely chocolatey? We suggest a fluffy mousse with a hint of coconut and coffee, served with caramelized bananas.
Ingredients
For the Mousse
- Avocado – 4 pieces
- Dark chocolate – 120 g
- Cocoa powder – 40 g
- Instant coffee – 1 teaspoon
- Honey – 4 tablespoons
- Salt – 0.5 teaspoon
- Coconut milk – 130 ml
For the Caramelized Bananas
- Banana – 2 pieces
- Sugar – 2 tablespoons
- Oil – 1 tablespoon
- Orange juice – 50 ml
- Coconut flakes – 2 tablespoons
Preparation
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler. Transfer the melted chocolate to a blender glass. Add peeled and pitted avocados, cocoa powder, honey, and salt, and blend until all ingredients are combined. Add instant coffee and blend again. Then, add coconut milk and blend until you achieve a creamy, fluffy mixture.
Transfer the mousse into bowls and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (preferably 3-4 hours for best results).
Once the mousse is chilled, peel and slice the bananas. Heat oil in a frying pan, add sliced bananas and sugar. Fry the banana slices on both sides until they turn golden. Pour in the orange juice and cook for a while until the juice evaporates. Place the hot caramelized bananas on top of the mousse.
Toast the coconut flakes in a dry pan. Sprinkle the toasted flakes over the dessert.
