Gone are the days when ramen was just a quick meal – here it’s the star of a snack that’s as addictive as it is satisfying. Crushed into bite-sized pieces and baked to perfection, ramen noodles mix with Cheddar Goldfish, pretzels and a mix of unsalted nuts for a texture-packed experience in every handful.
Ingredients:
- 3 sachets dried ramen noodles, crushed into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup Cheddar Goldfish
- 1 cup pretzels
- 1 cup unsalted nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts)
- 1/2 cup wasabi or dried peas (optional)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne (optional)
- 2 ramen seasoning packets
- Kosher salt, to taste
Method of cooking:
Preheat the oven to 120°C (250°F).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed ramen noodles, Cheddar Goldfish, pretzels and unsalted nuts. If you’re using wasabi peas or dried peas, add them too.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne if using.
Pour the butter mixture over the dry ingredients and toss to coat evenly.
Sprinkle the ramen seasoning packets over the mixture and toss again to distribute the flavours.
Spread the mixture evenly on a baking tray.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even cooking.
When ready, sprinkle with kosher salt to taste while the mix is still warm.
Allow the snack mix to cool completely before serving.
