We all love and know hot sandwiches, but puccia stands out among them with its unique flavor. Salami, burrata, and basil salad enclosed between crispy pieces of Italian-style bread make a wonderful composition for breakfast or lunch!
Ingredients
Puccia Sandwich:
- Olive oil – 2 teaspoons
- Salami – 8 slices
- Burrata – 0.5 piece
- Puccia bread – 2 pieces
Basil Salad:
- Fresh basil – 1 bunch
- Olive oil – 1 tablespoon
- Balsamic vinegar – 0.25 teaspoon
- Salt – 1 pinch
- Red pepper flakes – 1 teaspoon
Preparation
Step 1: Toast the Puccia Bread Slice the puccia bread in half lengthwise, drizzle both halves with olive oil, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Toast for about 5 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C, until they are golden brown on top.
Step 2: Prepare the Basil Salad In a small bowl, combine olive oil with balsamic vinegar, salt, and lightly crushed red pepper flakes. Add the basil and toss to coat.
Step 3: Assemble the Sandwiches Spread half of the prepared burrata onto the bottom half of each toasted puccia bread, then layer 4 slices of salami on top. Arrange the basil salad on the layer of salami. Cover with the top half of the toasted puccia bread. Repeat the process for the second sandwich.
