Polish pasta with cottage cheese

Polish pasta with cottage cheese

In a world where meals can become overly complicated, this dish is a celebration of simplicity. It’s proof that a few humble ingredients can come together to create something truly special.

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (16 oz) package egg noodles
  • 1 (16 ounce) carton of cottage cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Method of preparation:

Melt the butter in a saucepan over a medium heat.

Cook and stir the diced onion in the melted butter until soft, about 7 to 10 minutes.

Bring a large saucepan of lightly salted water to the boil.

Add the egg pasta and cook, stirring occasionally, until partially cooked, about 5 minutes.

Drain and return the pasta to the saucepan.

Pour the onion mixture over the pasta.

Stir in the cottage cheese, sour cream, sea salt and black pepper.

Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is heated through and the pasta is tender but still firm to the bite, about 5 to 8 minutes.
