Check out this recipe for plum jam that will delight your taste buds with its oriental flavors of cinnamon and refreshing orange note. Delicious!
Ingredients
- Orange – 1 piece
- Sugar – 100 g
- Cinnamon – 1 pinch
- Plums – 2 kg
Preparation
- Prepare the Orange: Wash and blanch the orange. In a wide-bottomed pot, add the grated zest and juice of 1 orange.
- Prepare the Plums: Wash and pit the plums, then place them in the pot with the orange zest and juice.
- Cooking the Jam: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer the jam for about 1 hour (after an hour, let the plums cool, even overnight).
- If the plums were not very sweet, you can add more sugar. Once cooled, simmer the plums over low heat until the juice evaporates and the jam reaches a fairly thick consistency. Season with cinnamon to taste.
- Transfer to Jars: While still hot, transfer the jam to sterilized and dried jars. Wipe the jar rims thoroughly, then seal tightly.
- Sterilization: Place the jars with jam in a pot of water (the water should reach slightly above half of the jars’ height). Make sure the jars do not touch each other in the pot. Bring the water to a boil and simmer covered for about 10 minutes.
- Remove the sterilized jars from the pot, flip them upside down, and let them cool.
