French Toast with Bananas

A sweet breakfast that will delight the little ones – French toast with bananas and lime sauce. Be sure to try it out!


French Toast

  • Banana, 1
  • Cinnamon, 1 pinch
  • Egg, 2
  • Butter, 3 tablespoons
  • All-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon
  • Honey, 2 tablespoons
  • Bread slices, 80 g


  • Ground cardamom, 1 teaspoon
  • Lime, 1
  • Honey, 4 tablespoons
  • Milk, 200 ml
  • Heavy cream (30%), 200 ml
  • Egg yolks, 6


Step 1: Sauté the Banana

Slice the banana thinly. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of honey in a hot pan, gently caramelize. Add the banana and cinnamon, sauté for about 1 minute.

Step 2: Fry the French Toast until Golden Brown

Spread honey on the bread slices. Place the sautéed banana slices on one slice and cover with another. Coat in flour, then dip in beaten eggs. Fry the slices in melted butter until golden brown on each side.

Step 3: Prepare the Sauce

Whisk the egg yolks with honey until fluffy. Bring the milk and heavy cream to a boil (optionally adding cardamom). Strain the milk and cream mixture. Gradually add the beaten egg yolks, tempering them gently. Heat the sauce over low heat or in a water bath until thickened. Stir constantly. Finally, season the sauce with lime juice and grated lime zest.
