Ingredients

  • Puff pastry (1 package)
  • Zucchini (1/2 piece)
  • Canadian bacon (150 g)
  • Rice (100 g)
  • Fine sea salt
  • Coarsely ground black pepper
  • Egg yolk (1 piece)
  • Sesame seeds (1/2 tablespoon)

Preparation

  1. Cook the rice in salted boiling water until slightly sticky. Drain and let it cool. Dice the Canadian bacon and sauté it in a pan over high heat until lightly browned.
  2. Wash the zucchini, grate it using a grater (do not peel it), sprinkle with salt, and let it sit for 10 minutes. After this time, squeeze out excess moisture, then mix with the rice and bacon. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and mix well.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry and cut out circles using a glass. Place a teaspoon of the filling on each circle and seal the edges. Arrange the dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with beaten egg yolk, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  4. Preheat the oven to 200°C, then bake the dumplings for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Serve hot, although they also taste great cold.
