Golden yeast dough with aromatic additions. A traditional Italian snack that you can prepare in your own kitchen.
Ingredients
- Water – 125 ml
- Wheat flour – 250 g
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Sugar – 1 teaspoon
- Salt – 2 teaspoons
- Dried yeast – 5 g
- Black olives – 50 g
- Cherry tomatoes – 200 g
- Fresh basil – 1 handful
- Sun-dried tomatoes – 100 g
Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Dough Sift the flour into a bowl, add the yeast, sugar, salt, lukewarm water, and olive oil. Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with the kneaded dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest in a warm place for about 1.5 hours, until it doubles in size.
Step 2: Transfer the Dough to a Baking Sheet Once the dough has risen, briefly knead it again with hands generously coated with olive oil. Place the dough on a baking sheet greased with olive oil or lined with parchment paper. Make indentations in the dough with your fingers and generously drizzle olive oil over it.
Step 3: Decorate and Bake the Focaccia Evenly distribute sliced olives, sun-dried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and chopped basil over the prepared dough. Let it rise again for about 20-30 minutes. Place the focaccia in an oven preheated to 190°C and bake for about 25 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
