Ingredients
- Feta cheese – 400 g
- Lemon – 1 piece
- Black pepper – a pinch
- Eggs – 2 pieces
- All-purpose flour – 100 g
- White sesame seeds – 100 g
- Oil – 2 tablespoons
- Red onion – 1 piece
- Beefsteak tomatoes – 2 pieces
- Fresh oregano – 3 sprigs
- Vinegar – 3 tablespoons
- Olive oil – 5 tablespoons
- Salt – 2 pinches
- Parsley leaves – 4 sprigs
Preparation
Step 1: Seasoning the Feta Cheese Pat dry the feta cheese and cut it diagonally in half. Grate the lemon zest finely and season the feta cheese with it. Also, sprinkle with black pepper to taste.
Step 2: Coating the Feta Cheese Beat the eggs in a bowl. In two separate bowls, pour flour and sesame seeds. Coat each feta triangle first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally in sesame seeds.
Step 3: Frying the Feta Cheese Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the feta cheese in it until the sesame seeds turn golden brown. Drain the finished cheese pieces on paper towels.
Step 4: Preparing the Accompaniments Dice the onion finely and sauté it in oil until translucent. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into 2 cm pieces. Pluck the oregano leaves from the stems and chop them roughly. Season the tomatoes with oregano, vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Step 5: Serving the Dish Serve the still warm feta cheese with tomatoes, onion, and parsley leaves.
