Coffee liqueur can be used for making cocktails like Black Russian (vodka on ice with coffee liqueur) or White Russian (vodka on ice with coffee liqueur and cream). It also tastes great on its own (or with a splash of milk) served with desserts or vanilla ice cream. You can use it to soak ladyfingers for cakes or add it to desserts like tiramisu. Homemade coffee liqueur also makes a wonderful Christmas gift for coffee enthusiasts.
Ingredients:
- 200 ml strong coffee (about 4-5 espresso shots)
- 200 g sugar
- 80 ml 95% alcohol (spirytus)
- Optional: 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preparation:
Brew the coffee. Pour it into a saucepan, add sugar, and dissolve completely while stirring. Let it cool down, then add vanilla extract if using, and the alcohol. Stir well to combine. Chill the liqueur in the fridge or serve at room temperature (there’s no need to store the liqueur in the fridge).
