Belgian sauce is one of the well-known and beloved condiments, served with burgers, hot dogs, and other fast foods, although it’s most commonly found as an accompaniment to fries. Its creamy consistency and intense flavor make it the perfect complement to this popular dish. How to prepare this ridiculously simple yet incredibly tasty sauce? Let’s discover our recipe!

Ingredients:

  • Mayonnaise, 100 g
  • Ketchup, 50 g
  • Onion, 1 piece
  • Vinegar, 1 tablespoon
  • Salt, 2 pinches

Optional:

  • Black pepper, 1 pinch

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the Onion Peel the onion and finely chop it. Put it in a bowl and pour vinegar over it. After a while, the onion will release its juice (about 3 minutes) – do not discard it! Let this juice enrich the flavor of the sauce.

Step 2: Add the Remaining Ingredients To the bowl with the onion, add mayonnaise and ketchup. Season with salt, and if you prefer slightly spicier sauces, also add black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly to combine all the ingredients, and that’s it! The sauce is ready to eat!
