Affogato with Pistachio Ice Cream and Caramel

A simple and quick recipe by Kinga for a coffee dessert, made with strongly brewed coffee, pistachio ice cream, and salted caramel. Try this amazing combination!


Caramel Sauce:

  • Brown sugar – 75 g
  • Butter – 10 g
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Heavy cream (30% fat) – 60 g


  • Ground coffee – 1 teaspoon
  • Water – 100 ml


  • Pistachio ice cream – 75 g


Step 1: Prepare the Caramel:

  1. Place all the ingredients for the caramel sauce in a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  2. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the mixture thickens. Transfer to a jar.

Step 2: Prepare the Coffee:

  1. Brew the coffee – preferably using a coffee maker or a drip method.

Step 3: Combine All Ingredients:

  1. In a glass, pour desired amount of caramel sauce.
  2. Add scoops of pistachio ice cream.
  3. Pour hot coffee over the ice cream.
